Artists Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity" by Julia Cameron From
our friend Dee Emeigh Brown:
After reading your email this morning,
along with devotions from different places, including Oswald Chambers
and John 15, I came across the following note in the NIV Women's Study
Bible, from
Sheila Walsh (the singer? I think I remember her!):
"It would be so much easier if we were given a road map. It would
make so much of the journey more bearable if we could see that the path
that is painful for a time is leading somewhere and it will get better.
We don't have that. No believer who has gone before us has had that. There
is no map. Christ is the way. Sometimes we feel so torn in two. Our human
flesh cries out for some comfort and direction, for some control, and
yet we are called to live above that... Surely it is on the path with
Christ that we will find
rest. And when we are there, we will no longer wonder about God's will
for our lives - we are living it."
And from "God Calling" (5-8) "Rest. I am at work. Listen
to my voice. Be at Rest. Do the things you hear Me say...com back again
to rest. All work that results from resting with God is miracle work..."
Finally, Oswald Chambers " 'Abide in Me' in every matter of life...
It does not matter what my circumstances are; I can be as sure of ABIDING
in Jesus in them as in a prayer meeting. Be at home with
God wherever you are placed. Abide in Him now."
